Bristol City Council has been given £80,000 from a £9.75 million government fund to back council efforts in cleaning up high streets and town centres across the country.
|
The Council are proposing to work in partnership with existing community groups to undertake community-led high street and town centre cleans. Since Gloucester Rd has 350 retail shops, second only to Broadmead and Cabot Circus (452) we would hope to be given some support.
The full details of the initiative are expected to be published this coming week. The draft proposals had a very tight timetable, with only six weeks from start to finish!
Naturally the BCR Street Scene Group will be applying for funds or a package of support, but wish to hear what you think is needed to help clean up Gloucester Road.
As the timetable may be very short, please can you either come to the drop in session on Monday (April 8th) 4.30 to 6 pm at Bishopston Library or email us at streetscene@bcrcp.org with your suggestions. Look forward to hearing from you.
