We recently had a report from a person who had been bitten by a tick. She thought it had happened when was sitting on the grass St. Andrew’s Park. It led to an infection for which she needed treatment.
Having checked with the city council, this is, apparently, a very rare occurence in Bristol’s parks and open spaces. However, it was felt that this should be brought to people’s attention with the advice being that, on the slight chance that you or a member of your family get a tick bite and it subsequently leads to a skin rash and possibly flu symptoms, you should immediately contact your doctor.
We hope you enjoy the summer in our beautiful park.
