Bristol City Council had notified Friends of St Andrews Park that work on the redevelopment of the younger children’s play area will (finally) start on November 4th. It is scheduled to be completed in mid-December.
The younger children’s multi-play unit will be replaced by a Diabolo unit from Proludic, with minor adaptations requested to make it more accessible for the youngest children. There will also be a semi circle of sensory play panels installed below the sandpit, adjacent to the trim trail. The funding for these developments has been provided by the Ibstock Enovert Trust and the government’s Pocket Parks Plus fund, with some matched funding from Bristol City Council.
A further development will be to resurface part of the slope leading down to the sandpit. This may be at a slightly later date. We have also been informed that some repairs will be undertaken to the trim trail further down the site.
Friends of St Andrews Park regrets that there has been delay in implementing these works, but is pleased that they will now be happening.
