Halloween

Hi, hope this gets to someone.
I am a children's entertainer who has performed a Halloween show in St Andrews Park on previous Halloweens. Having spoke to the council, they are willing to fund another performance this year but they do not have time and resources to help organise it and set it up. If you would like this event to take place, could someone contact me to start the proceedings please.

Re Halloween.

last year the council was happy to fund and take charge of the Halloween event that i organised and took place in the park. This year they have said that any event should be through the friends group. In essence this means that we would have to get funding, apply for a licence, do a risk assessment, let the emergency services know and publicise it all. Since i am just a performer, i cannot take on this role which takes time and effort, so it looks like the event cannot go ahead. If anyone is plucky enough to take on the admin, this is what i have found out so far: You can get funding from Quartet community funding or we could probably raise £100 of the £200 required from collection on the night.(i know it would be well attended as last year there was over 200 people!)

For my part i am happy to perform two shows of stories and puppets; an earlier less scary show and a later more scary show, eg 4.30 and 6.00. I can arrange gazzebo, lighting and PA and do the majority of producing and distributing a leaflet advertising the event. I will also liase with the nice ladies at the cafe who are happy for the event to take place.

The idea behind the event is to provide a public community event for children around the Halloween date in an atmospheric location. It is by no means anti christian and no mention is made of devil or Hell but the idea is to be spooky rather than sweet.

This is as far as i have got with the project so i am throwing it open to anyone in the St Andrews community who has time and energy for this project. If it doesn't happen this year...maybe we could start earlier next year.
