The Council is curently planning to close Hurlingham Road to through traffic.  There is a fear amongst some St Andrews residents that this will cause tailbacks along Chesterfield Road and Somerville Road back from Ashley Hill, which would subsequently result in drivers rat-running around the Park to try and avoid the queues.  Obviously this would do little for the amenity of the park.  Unfortunately the Council do not currently have funds to upgrade the Ashley Hill/Chesterfield Road junction to relieve the predicted problem.

If you feel that the Council should wait with closing Hurlingham Road until the necessary work has been done, you might be interested in the petition at http://epetitions.bristol.gov.uk/epetition_core/view/Hurlingham
