The Social & Arts Group was established in 2007. The primary role of the group is to act as a catalyst for formal and informal events in the park. The group also supports and promotes other activities that other people may organise that fall within the terms of reference of FoSAP.
ParkArts11, organised and promoted by some members of the group, was held on July 10th 2011. It was a one-day arts festival held in the park involving visual artists and music performers. There was a range of stalls offering arts and crafts and activities for children and others selling refreshments. You can see photos on this website in the ParkArts11Group page.
The Ceilidh, held in November 2011 raised £648.00 for the East Africa Crisis Appeal.

Just to let members know about my Fantasy Art show at The Prince of Wales. It's on until November 8th, 50% of any sales of my work go to support a small community group for older and disabled council tenants in St George.
The Prince of Wales does great food, and the loos are at long last separated!
I have sent an email to FOSAP offering free artwork which FOSAP could use on postcards, cards, calendars etc, or just raffle the originals for fund raising. I don't know who in FOSAP to talk to about this or where to post it on the site so I am trying here? I expect you have already 'been there, done that' before as many of the members of North Bristol Artists live near the park. Nevertheless I am happy to offer artwork. I can do some new artwork based on Spring, Summer, Autumn, & Winter in the park - this would take all this year and be ready in time for fund raising prior to next Christmas. It would take this long because I would do my own photography, and live sketching at different seasons. The originals would be quite big - A3 to A1 size. Please have a look at my website and see if you think this is a good idea:

This was a tremendous effort by everyone, so well done all round.
