Cowslips in flower, April 7th '19

"This is very encouraging; between us, we planted lots of plugs a few years ago, b ut I thought they’d all been lost to the mower. Perhaps being near to the fence they have found their niche. I’m so pleased."

Pesticides in Parks

During 2016 BCC conducted some trials of glyphosate-free maintenance of parks and open spaces.

St Andrews Park volunteered to trial no glyphosate treatment of the Spiral florals near the Leopold Road side of the park.

An interim report on the trial has been produced by BCC.

Hi Regina, 

Thanks for the comment. It would be great to come to your next meeting. I live on Sefton Park Road, and am running a honeybee social enterprise, called Bee the Change and would be great to chat to you about potentially working with the community to encourage more people into keeping bees! Especially with that wonderful wildflower meadow :) There is lots of funding at the moment from the Green Capital fund, so perhaps we could improve the park even more. 

It would be great if you could let me know when the meeting is.
