Hello Matthew, Table Tennis in the park sounds to me a very good idea and I hope that you can register an interest before the deadline. John M.

No, you're not a lone voice, Andrew! Very nearly though, but I suspect that many active members of the Friends don't read the blogs much. Yes your message is spot on! I too enjoy seeing the park being used by young people and, even if I didn't, ther…

So how much has been raised? I don't understand why this information is not on the main page yet. Please respond.

So, can we have a 'Total Raised So Far' on the main page. I'm sure it would be a simple thing for admin to do if he knew the figures every now and then. I am sure many people will visit the site looking for information about the memorial and seeing how much has been given so far may inspire them to give.

Have you seen the post by Admin in the "Fund rasing for the memorial" blog? I think it would be a great idea to have a running total of funds raised so far on the Main Page.

I wish to donate £100 to a Welsh Slate Memorial Plaque to commemorate

these Brave, RAF Servicemen but I do not wish to donate to a wooden plaque

Is there a fund dedicated to the Welsh Slate Memorial engraved with

the Wellington Bomber & the names of the Crew?......I do not wish to

donate to Friends of St Andrews Park & my donation just be swallowed up.

A completely separate Appeal would seem to be the way forward & then we

can be assured that our funds are going to be used for this purpose alone.

If a Charity is formed for this precise purpose then people can donate

by www.justgiving.com & Gift Aid will then be applied ......I think we need to

look at these avenues or has our Heritage Lottery bid been successful?

I stand ready to go round the houses in the area canvassing donations.....

if this is necessary.

All the Best,

Doug

Hi John,

David Cemlyn has given me details of how people can give towards the memorial. I have added them to my website Can you let me have your e-mail address, so I can turn your name into a link and people can contact you directly if they need to know more? Also, are you a charity and can people gift aid their donations? If so, how do they do this?

Meeting with Chris Hammond on 9.1.09.

These are the notes from last Friday's meeting.

Marjo, Des Bowring, Simon Randolph and I met up with Chris Hammond in the park, to talk about some of our current projects and ideas for the future. Chris was accompanied by Bryan Williams of Continental Landscapes who manages maintenance of the park on behalf of the Council. Chris had asked Bryan along to provide continuity given the likelihood of him being moved on to another job with the Parks dept. Here are some of the main things that were di… Continue
