Anna Wilcox of Bristol City Council sent this reply to my query about watering the new cedar. .

“We have ordered a weekly watering for it by our tree contractors. The tree planting officer has suggested it could just be under a bit of initial stress and will settle.

Do contact me again if you have any further concerns or if it seems to deteriorate much more.”

Glad we have a correct identification for the new tree. As you say, the common name for Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca' is Blue Atlas Cedar and the photo below this

comment shows the bluish tinge of its leaves.
