I was recently recommended this website by a keen local naturalist. It is run by the Open University and is a great place to upload photos of wildlife and have experts identify them for you. Not only that, but you gain 'social points' the more you use the site and build up your reputation as a naturalist when you identify other people's sightings. Because of this, there is a real incentive to use the site and to be honest it is quite addictive. All plant and animal groups are well represented including invertebrates and birds, so give it a whirl!

I tried this website over a year ago, Des, and had big problems with signing in with user name and password. It kept refusing to recognise it, and when sent a new password, same thing happened with that! Did eventually get signed in. But haven't been back to it since because of all the hastle. But you reminded me of the site with your comment, here. So I've just tried to sign in with my password just now and been refused! Back to square one!
