Hi Simon,

The site was undergoing maintenance  a couple of days ago. Now the Latest Activity list is not showing. What is shown is the Forum comments.

I have looked at the settings, but am not confident to attempt to alter any.

Hi Simon,

I have tried several times to upload a photo onto the website and keep getting an error message saying try again - which I do, only to get more error messages!

Is my computer faulty or is it a FOSAP website problem?

Thanks, Simon Randolph

Hi Simon

I have put info about the Green treasure Hunt event on the front page of website, but it is repeated on 'Latest activity' below that and I can't edit it to correct the dates there which should be August 1st to Sept 13th as on the Event notice above it.

Hi Simon

I think you need to remove the advert for a dating agency that has been put on the website!

Hi Simon, Here is another link I think we should include - and I think this is the right address this time:

Sorry Simon - Des is right. Don't know why I sent the contact page!

That URL takes you to the contacts page. The Narroways homepage is http://narroways.wordpress.com/about/

and that may be a better place to start.

Just sayin'.

Hi Simon,

I have had replies from most of the Committee, including John, about the 'Baby Sensory' photo and all agreed with my view that this is advertising 'Baby Sensory', a profit making national organisation and as such should not be allowed on our website.  Hope you will be able to remove it soon.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon,

Just wondering- is the 'Baby Sensory' advert photo acceptable?

Hi Simon,

I can't give you a 'worked example'. It applies to every photo! If you look at any photo by just clicking on it and then compare it with the much better definition you get when you view it on the 'View full size' option, I think you will see what I am getting at.  I don't think there was this discrepancy in image quality on the previous ning version. I don't recall having to use the 'view full size' to get a better definition photo with the earlier version. All it did then was give you the same quality - but larger! It might be worth asking ning if they have slightly reduced the pixel level (or definition as I call it) of the straight view photos in this new software version.

Sorry if this all sounds a bit nerdish - but I don't think I'm imagining it. I just think a photo should be displayed at the best quality level possible on screen, whether it is on your own PC's software, 'Flicker's or that of the FoSAP's website.

Hi Simon,

I see the website has been given  a new look. Not sure, overall, that  it is an improvement.  But in relation to one aspect, it is disappointing.  The quality (pixel count?) of the photos has clearly been reduced in this new version. No problem if you look at the photos when you click on 'view full size' where you get the images in full definition; but the standard photos are definitely shown at a noticeably lower level of definition, which was definitely not the case with the older version. As someone who takes his photography seriously and particularly aims to get as clear detail as I can (given the limits of my camera) on close ups of wild life shots, I am really disheartened that this new version should offer a significantly reduced quality to photos.
