Amazing video, Andrew. It is definitely a leech. I think Jo's ID as belonging to the Genus Erpobdella is probably correct, but think it just might be, from its plain reddish brown colouring, Erpobdella testacea rather than octoculata. But unless you have a specimen 'in the hand' as it were, it's not really possible to be certain of the species.

Hope in the future you can get some more videos of our pond denizens with that brilliant camera!

I think you are correct, a leech. Leeches are related to true worms, like the earthworms in the garden, but leeches are aquatic. They have a sucking disc at the head and the rear end; some leeches suck blood, but the common Erpobdella octolucata, which this might be, feeds on smaller worms and insect -larvae. It's common name is 8-eyed leach because it has 8 eyes. They won't suck your blood. What a lovely video, thank you,
