Tickets are now available for ‘Music for a Spring Evening’, a concert of baroque gems featuring popular works by some of the best known composers from that era including J.S. Bach, Handel and Telemann. Organised by The Friends of St Andrews Park together with St. Bartholomew’s Church, the concert will be performed by a recently established ensemble of ten professional musicians – Quorum - whose director oboist Imogen Triner will be familiar to audiences at St. Georges and the Colston Hall.
This is possibly the first time that a harpsichord has been heard in the warm acoustics of St. Bartholomew’s church and, appropriately, proceeds from the concert will be donated to the organ appeal fund.
The doors open at 7.00 pm and the concert starts at 7.30 pm. There will be an interval during which wine and soft drinks will be available and members of the audience will be able to meet the musicians and to look at the unusual harpsichord.
Tickets are reasonably priced at £12 standard, £10 concessions for over 60s and the unwaged and, to encourage young musicians, £6 for the under 19’s. We do hope that many FoSAP members will be able to attend and please tell your friends.
