As you’ll see from the correspondence below, the problem with the new gates has been recognised by the Council and will be rectified.
From Richard Fletcher 22.3.13 to councillors Fi Hance and Sylvia Townsend.
"You will know that the new fencing and gates have now been installed in St Andrews Park.
After inspecting the work we feel that the quality of the installation is not what we wanted. As a result we will be looking to either do the work again or re-install elements of it. We will be looking at the swing gate design again. The overall principle, location and fence panel type (bow-top) will not change.
There will be no cost to bear locally – with the group or Neighbourhood Partnership.
As a starting point we will be getting a levels survey carried out. This will take place next week. Either myself or another officer would be happy to meet with Friends of St Andrews to talk through what we will be doing. I would be grateful if you could advise John. If you could also advise group members of the levels survey in case they wonder what is going on that would be useful."
