We are looking for a new Vice Chair.
The Friends of St Andrew’s Park [FoSAP] is a long established group of local people who love the Park and, working with the nearby community and the city council, help maintain, develop and promote its amenity and heritage. Its 5-10 year Vision for the Park focuses on Sustainable Health and Wellbeing.
FoSAP’s work is co-ordinated through its Committee. Current on-going projects include the redevelopment of the Children’s Play Area, creation of a perennial meadow adjacent to Leopold Road, re-painting of the toilet block mural, and many others.
FoSAP’s Committee currently consists of around 15 people, of which 5 have “formal’ roles: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Secretary. The role of Vice Chair is about to become vacant, and we are looking for someone who regularly uses, and loves the Park, and feels they have the time and energy to get actively involved in FoSAP’s important and rewarding work. You would work particularly closely with the Chair in co-ordinating and, at times, fronting FoSAP’s activities. Hopefully, you would enjoy the experience, and may even consider putting yourself forward as Chair in a years time, when the current Chair will be standing down.
We very much welcome expressions of interest in this position from anybody with a love for our Park and, at the same time, encouraging positive responses from as wide a variety of Park users as possible.
If you are interested and wish to find out more, both about the role and how to informally apply, please contact the current Chair, Steve Perry at :
We very much look forward to hearing from you.
