Surprise of this morning's Bird walk - Great Spotted Woodpecker, Sept 21st '14

Not the best of photos but it was moving quickly on the trunk of the pine, feeding with rapid stabs of its beak.
Des had earlier (and impressively!) heard and identified a brief bird call as being of a Great Spotted Woodpecker, but no views of it. Then, later (and completely vindicating Des,) we spotted it in the pine.
